Unexplored Places in Himachal Pradesh

Apart from the numerous tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh adored for their unsurpassed beauty, Himachal tourism boasts of many unexplored places as well. These stunning locations are a must-visit for those who like to go off the beaten path. Because they’re not as popular as Shimla or Kullu, these little havens have preserved their natural beauty. Make sure you include them in your Himachal tour package, so you don’t miss the best side of Himachal Pradesh. Here are some unexplored places in the state.

Chindi

Chindi is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Himachal. Walk through thick green forests or take a stroll among the apple trees in the orchards. Chindi also has some wonderful temples nearby, which include the Kamaksha Devi, Mahunag, Shikari Devi, Mamleshwar Mahadev, and the Pangna Killa Temple.

Barot

If a range of outdoor activities is in your “things to do in Himachal” checklist, then you definitely should not miss Barot. The reservoir of the power project is located here. Also, across the Uhl river is the Nargu Wild Life Sanctuary. Here you may be able to spot the Himalayan black bear, the ghoral, and a variety of pheasants.

Churdhar

Churdhar is a trekker’s delight. Located at a height of 3,647m, this place proves to be an excellent area for trekking in the summers and early winters. While it may be a difficult climb, the view on the way as well as from the top makes it worth it. On the way, you will get to see temperate and alpine forests and colorful Monals. At the top, you will be greeted with a view that extends from Badrinath in the north to the Satluj River in the south.

Dadasiba

The temple in Dadasiba village is a marvel that has to be seen to be appreciated. It is known for its architectural and artistic beauty. The structure completed in 1835, was said to have been built with the finest bricks of the time. It is also adorned with a number of paintings and has panels decorated with Sikh, Pahari, and Mughal painting styles.

Triund

Triund is situated at the foot of the Dhauladhar peak. Located at a height of about 2,975m, this place is barely 5km away from the snow line of the peak. It is a good place if you want to frolic in the snow during summer as the peak is snow-clad for most of the year. It is also one of the many Himachal tourist places where you will be able to spot several birds and animals.

While most of these places may not figure in most Himachal packages, do make sure that you get a package with at least two of them.
